President Rodrigo Duterte meets military and police officials in Zamboanga City and Basilan

President Rodrigo "Rody" Roa Duterte  arrives at Edwin Andrews Airbase in Zamboanga City

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte met with the officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippines National Police (PNP) on Thursday to start his tour of military bases in Mindanao.

Duterte arrived at Edwin Andrews Airbase in Zamboanga City at past noon and immediately headed to Basilan.

The President also met with local executives in Isabela, Basilan.

After the meeting, Duterte will return to Zamboanga City to hold another appointment with AFP and PNP officials, as well as the Western Mindanao Command.

Duterte will then go to his home province Davao City after the scheduled meeting.
