Basically all of NY losing their minds over a rare Pokemon |
In the past two weeks, real news headlines have shared stories of players going on dates, stumbling across dead bodies, getting caught cheating, falling off cliffs, and finding themselves the victim of a mugging, all thanks to the Nintendo app. The Pokémon Go craze is exactly that — pretty crazy.
It all culminated Thursday night at a park in NYC when a rare Pokémon appeared on the app. And as we all know, spotting that special find feels pretty magical.
This particular sighting drew quite the crowd and, well, you have
“What happens when hundreds of people are gathered at the edge of Central Park to play Pokemon Go at 11pm’ish and a Vaporeon shows up in the park? Well….this!” wrote YouTube user Dennis450D who uploaded the video.
“I didn’t catch the front of the pack that was sprinting into the park like a herd of wildebeest. Special shout out to the guy at the start of the video that jumped out of his car, left the engine running and darted off to claim the grand prize.”
It’s basically a mob scene…but we kind of love it. How often do you see people rallying in the park these days — especially for a fun game with friends? Pokémon Go is getting us out of the house (and, okay, not off our phones or anything), and that’s something to celebrate.
Just make sure to be careful while you’re out there catching ’em all.
